Swim Lessons, Youth

Swim lessons will be offered beginning June 21st. Classes meet Monday thru Thursday. In the event of inclement or threatening weather a decision to cancel classes will be made 30 minutes prior to class time. Please call 215-357-6800, ext. 249 for info. If classes are cancelled, Friday may be used as a make-up day, or a credit will be issued. NO MAKE UP CLASSES WILL BE OFFERED.

Though the pool will be open on MONDAY, JULY 5th there will be NO SWIM LESSONS on that day. There will, however, be a make-up lesson held on FRIDAY, JULY 9th.

General Information
  • Pool safety will be taught in all classes
  • Fees: • Swim Club Member - $40 • Resident - $50 • Nonresident - $60

  • MAKE-UP LESSON WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, JULY 9th.
Levels Descriptions
  • Pre-Beginner: Children must be at least 4 years of age. Floating, gliding and kicking on front and back, with support, will be taught.
  • Beginner 1: Children must be at least 5 years of age. Must be able to float and glide, without support, on front and back. Freestyle and backstroke, with support, will be taught.
  • Beginner 2: Children must be at least 6 years of age. Must be able to float and glide on front and back, without support. Freestyle with breathing to the side and backstroke without support will be taught. Swimmers will be introduced to deep water
  • Advanced 1: Children must be able to swim freestyle, breathing to the side for 1 width of the pool to register for this class. Treading water, elementary backstroke, breaststroke and diving from the side of the pool will be taught.
  • Advanced 2: Children must be able to swim freestyle breathing to the side, and backstroke for 1 width of the pool. All strokes will be reviewed with an introduction to side stroke and butterfly.
  • Tiny Tots: Each child must be accompanied in the water by an adult. During this 45 minute class, the adult participants will receive guidance from the instructor. The focus of this class will be floating, water safety techniques and gaining confidence around the water. PARTICIPANTS MUST WEAR APPROVED SWIM DIAPERS. Reusable swim diapers are available for purchase at the pool for $5.00 each.
