Hockey - Learn to Play Hockey
LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY ROOKIE 1 (AGES 4-12)
Learn to Play Hockey is a station based program which models USA Hockey's ADM program. Stations will be set up focusing on different skills to improve. Stations rotate every few minutes. The last 20 minutes players will have a controlled scrimmage. We will focus on the following areas: Skating, Stick Handling, Passing, Shooting, and Positional Play. Groups are divided by age and skill level. This is not a hockey league but a skills and drills program. Each child grows at their own pace.
LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY: ROOKIE 2 (AGES 4-12)
Ready for the next level? Then move on to Rookie 2! Rookie 2 continues with a station based program which models USA Hockey's ADM program. Stations will be set up focusing on different skills, where players will get more reps in each drill. Stations rotate every few minutes. A controlled scrimmage will be scheduled the last 15 minutes. We will focus on those areas needing the most improvement.
FULL EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED.
To Participate in our Learn to Play program, players must be able to skate. Ideally, players have completed "Learn to Skate" through Snowplow Sam Level4. Players can register for Learn to Skate and Learn to Play concurrently, however it is important to note that the better a player can skate, the more they will get out of their Learn to Play experience. Once Learn to Play is complete, you can move onto our In-House/Rookie League and then you're ready to play for our Royals Ice Hockey program.
